Las Ketchup officially confirmed as Spanish representatives 2006. Now 4 member band will perform "Bloody Mary" at Eurovision 2006 in Athens. Las Ketchup is originally a 3-girl group consisting of Lola, Pilar, Lucia and now also their sister Rocio Munoz from Cordoba in Andalucia, Spain. In the summer of 2002 they had a major flamenco Europop fusion hit with "Asereje'" (released as "The Ketchup Song" in the UK and other countries), which reached or almost reached the top of the charts in many countries including Spain, the UK, Italy, France, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Argentina, Mexico and the U.S. commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The name of the group is a reference to their father Juan Munoz, a well known flamenco guitarist known as El Tomate (The Tomato). This also explains why their debut album carried the title Las hijas del tomate (Tomato's daughters). Now Las Ketchup are coming back, with the new album titled Bloody Mary. The album will be released in Spain on April 4th and internationally on May 15th. They are planning to release 1 million copies and their producer "Queco", who also produced and wrote their world wide single "Asereje", promises that this album retains their original sound. Their first single to be released internationally on May 8th will be titled "Bloody Mary" and this song is the Spanish representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Single will also include 5 remixes: Blodymary houseton mix radio edit (DJ Caro), Blodymary houseton mix (DJ Caro), Blodymary club remix (Pedro del morar), Ketchini drive remix (Erik Nilsson), Blody villar mix (David Villar)	Официально подтверждено, что Испанию на Евровидении 2006 представит группа Las Ketchup. Confusion follows announcement of Spanish representative. Vertele.com/ come few days ago with an announcement that Las Ketchup will represent Spain with song "Bloody Mary". TVE however officially declared that 4 acts still in the running: Las Ketchup, Azucar Moreno, Chenoa and David Civera. Then record company VALE Music came with official denial that it's artists Chenoa and David Civera are in the running, categorically stating that they even have not submitted an application, due to the policy of the company and other existing plans for both performers. Winner is expected to be revealed on Monday at 18.00 CET in the TV programme Espana Directo on TVE 1 (repeated 19.15 CET on TVE Int). 19.02 Las Ketchup will represent Spain in Athens, if we will believe the quite reliable vertele.com/, the site that has first revealed couple of days ago that Spain will be making internal selection this year, which was later confirmed by TVE. Las Ketchup are three sisters that have had major international hit "Asereje" three years ago. According to Vertele internationally famous band was selected among 245 candidates that have submitted applications. Possible song that Las Ketchup may perform in Athens is "Bloody Mary", title theme from the second album of the trio, written by the author of "Asereje" Manuel Ruiz "Queco". TVE is set to present officially the performer and the Eurovision entry during the special show, which will air somewhen around 20th of March. Other famous participants that have submitted their application are Azucar Moreno, who have represented Spain at Eurovision 1990. 17.02 Delivering news first TVE will run internal selection this year, finally confirms Spanish broadcaster. The reason given by the head of Entertaiment department of the channel is that "most of the latest eurovision winners have been performers with a professional career behind them" TVE has received 245 songs, 40 of them have proceeded to the second round of selection and the winner is expected to be announced by the end of the month and presented before March 20th on a special show. One of the favourite candidates to take the job are band Azucar Moreno who represented Spain in 1990.
